Marvel’s ‘Black Panther’ Was Breaking Records Before It Was Even Released

Let’s just jump right out of the gate and admit it – we’re super excited for the new ‘Black Panther’ movie. I mean, you only have to watch the trailer for five seconds and you’ll agree.

And if you believe that ticket pre-sales are anything to go by, this film could well set box office records.

In case you missed it, you can watch the trailer here:

This trailer clearly had everyone as pumped as we are to see the movie, because pre-ticket sales went crazy, so-much-so that Lupita Nyong’o, Oscar winner and star in Black Panther, coulnd’t even book tickets herself!

Currently, ‘Captain America: Civil War’ holds the record for most advanced ticket sales of any film, and reports from Fandango suggest that ‘Black Panther’ could be set to beat this.

Of course this is only using stats from one site, but Captain America not only set the record for most advanced ticket sales, it then went on to break the record for most actual ticket sales ever on the site.

Estimates suggest that the film’s opening weekend could go above and beyond $90m and, quite possibly, beat Deadpool’s figure of $1312m. This would make it the highest-grossing Febuary release of all time.

Understandably, fans on Twitter are reacting positively to the trailer:

Even some famous people expressed their excitement about the film!

The cast of the movie is star-studded to say the least, including Forrest Whitaker, Lupita Nyong’o, Martin Freeman, Andy Serkis, none other than the great Morgan Freeman!

Are you pumped for this movie like we are?
